You're speaking in some itty bitty sentences that never cease to blow me away. You were in the back seat of the car after a grocery shopping trip and you were kind of fussing at me, but we were almost home and I was pooped so I pretended not to hear you...usually I'll say, "What it is, Emmie?" Finally you determined that grunting was getting you nowhere and said, "More water please." What the what? Who took my baby and put a polite 3 year old in the back seat? You've also come out with some funny phrases...we were driving with Sarah and Noah and in car...you were making Noah laugh which was making all of us laugh...so you decided to say, "I so funnnny!" Yes...yes you are. You were visiting with Sarah, Noah, Desiree, Rowan and Khylear while Mommy and Daddy went to a meeting...Desiree brought out raisins for everyone...Sarah told me you said, "Want, want....please...want...GIVE ME SOME!" The next day your diaper sure enough told me that they gave you tons! We were told that when you learned to say the words that you do that you would drop the signs...not the case with you. You say it or sign it depending on your mood, and often you do both...or one and then the other just in case I didn't understand! You told me just today that "Soobie (your paci) night-night, NOOOO in POCKET!" It was like you had this revelation that I had been telling you it was in your bed, but you KNEW I always have one in my pocket!
Halloween was a lot of fun...you were a peacock and loved every minute of it...now when you see a pumpkin or candy you say, "Hag-o-weeeeeeeen," with a big grin on your face. You were bold about asking for, "more, more, more," at each house that we went to and you're young enough that everyone just thought it was cute...I'm glad you liked the experience because you're not having any of the candy just yet!
You love your "slideeee" that we got you...everything that was on a bit of an angle was a slideeee to you...my legs, a tripod, two boxes that you would put together on an angle...the mini waterfall that came with your Little People Animal set...so a slideee you got. You've found new love for your Drop and Roar Dinosaur and think it is fun to demand that I "spin" the balls on the carpet. "Spin, spin spin," you say until I do just that.
You use a spoon pretty much full time now and more and more is making it to your mouth. You've gotten a little more opinionated about your food, but you're still a pretty good eater...potatoes aren't doing it for you and the soy sauce on the stir fry the other night had your face in stitches...but I love that you can now hand the food to me and say, "Don't like it..." You love onions. You beg for more. Odd child. You also have started to make funny food requests out of the blue....at a play group the other day you loudly announced that you wanted cereal...well I didn't bring any with me. Then you proclaimed, "an apple," but I didn't have one of those...I gave you your water and you looked at me and handed it back and said..."MILK!" It used to be you would see something and say it, it is really very interesting that you can keep the idea of something in your head now and bring it about when no one has been talking about it.
You're still very laid back, but you're also very non-confrontational. If someone else wants the slide before you you let them go....someone wants the car you're playing with you usually hand it over. It is rare that you cry about it...unless it is a car (more importantly a Ferrari) or one of your little people that you love. You prefer to walk everywhere, though, and will let me know when carrying you isn't an option....it seems as though your politeness you save for others...me, well, you let me know when enough is enough! Your turning into a Daddy's girl...when I ask you where he is during the day you say, "workin'....I cry." Too cute. We're on a pretty good bed/nap schedule and the potty is still the only place you want to put your poop...nice!
You amaze me, kiddo. I love you to pieces.Love,Mom
