Hi Emmie!
Happy 16 months! In some ways it is really hard to believe that you are already 16 months old, and in others I can't believe you are only 16 months old, sometimes you seem so much older than that. You're learning left and right and I'm surprised at how much can fit into that little mind of yours, you really are a sponge. I can't wait see how much you love to have a little baby in the house!

You like to whine, and have this little tantrum-ey thing that you do lately where you make this crazy high pitched noise over and over...and I always think you're about to freak out, but when I look at you you have a smile on your face like you know exactly what it is your doing...I can wait until I can really reason with you because I know I used to tell the kids that I babysat for that I didn't understand, "WHINE" that I only spoke, "English and a little Spanish" so if they could just rephrase that whine we'd be all set...right now if I said that to you you'd probably just look confused and drag me off to whatever it was your were whining about in the first place...it usually is about wanting something that you can't have...which, by the way, isn't much at all...or about wanting to go outside when I'm in a T-shirt and underwear and you're not patient enough to wait for me to throw some pants on...or when you want food, like an orange, and I can't seem to peel it fast enough for you!

This is what she thought of smiling for the camera...
Just the other day we went grocery shopping and you did really well in the store, but when we left we were just going to walk down to CVS and all you wanted to do was storm out into the street....you were very sad when I wouldn't let you run into the traffic. On the way home that day Daddy was driving and I was chugging some water...you were fussing a bit in the backseat, but I was pooped and it was only a 3 minute drive so I didn't ask you to say what you wanted which is usually just, "MORE," or "PLEASE..." so you fussed for about 10 seconds and then burst out with, "MORE WATER PLEASE," all at once...I was shocked and handed you my water bottle...who put a polite three year old in your body, may I ask?

This is from a "marketing" shoot that Emmie got to do...she loves anything she can wrap around her neck...

Your still signing like crazy even though you can talk...sometimes I think you think I can't hear you so you will ask and ask and then sign it just in case I didn't understand your request...it is very cute when you play with Noah and he has something that you want that you sign please to him...it's a hard lesson to learn, though, that please gets you a lot of things, but not everything. You have an incredible sense of humor...you will spin around the room and say, "dizzy dizzy dizzy" until you fall because you know I think it is funny...and we got you a new potty that goes on the big potty...you thought it was pretty funny to walk around looking through it saying, "I see you...." I laughed at first...but I probably shouldn't encourage you to put the potty on your face...huh? As for the potty, you're about 95% pooped potty trained...I don't really know how we'll go about the pee part, but you sign potty, grab my hand, and lead me to the bathroom everytime you have to go...we only have a problem if we're out with no potty in sight or if, like today, you're too distracted and interested in what you're doing to want to go...but you signed potty and told me what was going on, we just didn't make it to the pot.

You'll hate me for pictures like this later!
You're obsessed with the ABC's, Row Row Row You're Boat, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes (which you sing...head...toesies), the Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Wheels on the Bus...we sing a LOT...I'm not a very good singer but you ask for more every time.

You love your Halloween peacock costume!
You're also obsessed with bellys...my belly, your belly...you find a belly button and say, "Ding-DONG," while sticking your finger in...because of this we have to keep those nails nice and short! You still love the "WEEEEES" (swings) and your now very into slides and insist that my legs, when I'm sitting in a chair, are a "slidey" just for you...you also think your Drop and Roar Dinosaur is a slidey for you...and you thought the coffee table was one as well until we put it in the basement...it was too scary to watch you climb on it and then stand up...we'll have to bring it up later when you understand gravity better. You're sleeping pretty well, most nights 7:30pm to 7am so I really can't complain, but there are the nights you are up at 11, or 2 or 3 and in bed with us...and sadly I get about 1/10th of the sleeping space...which is hard when I have to sleep on my side to be comfortable and my bum is literally hanging into thin air...I'm going to blame it on the teeth and just keep hoping for good nights...

More from that marketing shoot...you love bears, monkeys, and cars (you can say Ferrari, BRRRRM)....go figure.
I'm excited to see what this next month brings...it really is fun and exciting to see you learn and love every day...BTW...maybe it wasn't such a bright idea to get all four molars and your next two bottom teeth all at once...it kind of hurts!
I love you little girley!!
