8 Months

_____________________________________________

Dear Chase-Chase,

You are getting to be so cute with such a fun fun fun personality. You laugh and giggle at the cutest things and you're an overall ham begging for attention wherever you can get it. You're still a little irratible when you're tired, but I am too, so no worries. You're still kind of little too...the geneticist is worried about your "stature" but I'm not...we'll see who is right in the long run, right now I'm just so busy loving you.

You like to cuddle and shy into my shoulder when people talk to you. You still hate food although you're tolerating some things...rice cereal is a big no. As is freshly made white or brown rice mixed with breast milk and put in the food processor. Sweet potatoes freshly made...no...gerberized? Yes. Peas that I mash with my fingers and take off the shell yes, pease from Earth's Best or Gerber....no. Apple sauce, pears, green beans...no no no. Puffs in either banana flavor or sweet potatoe, YES YES YES. Biter toast? No. Biter biscuit? Yes. Pizza crust, HECK YEA. So we're learning...and I keep giving you the nos thinking that in time you might change your mind...but they aren't just little nos, they make you gag and lose a whole belly full of food...even just the taste on the tip of your tongue. Me thinks you might be more of a picky eater like daddy.

Your favorite activity involves reaching out to grab anyone in arms reach and pulling up to stand. You still hate tummy time so I think you'll be a late crawler like Emmie. I think you might sign milk, but maybe you just like to scratch me when you're nursing. You love you sister and smile at her whenever she comes near you. She often grabs the spoon and gets more food into you than I can because you giggle at her and in it goes. You finally tolerate the car seat....boy that was torture...and you LOVE being wrapped. Thank god! And you co-sleep...all the things I wanted from the start and you made me wait 6, 7, or 8 months. You have taught me so much about you, about parenting, and about you Daddy and I that it amazes me that this little person who has only been with us for such a short time could accomplish so much.

You're amazing, little guy, and and for whatever you lack in size you make up for in a HUGE way in personality at even such a young age. I can't wait to get to know you and watch you learn and discover...it is going to be so fun to watch you crawl, and walk, and I can't wait to hear what you have to say and sign.

Love you ton,

Mommy
